Salt Specialties in Mariager (Denmark) and Hengelo (Netherlands) is part of the SALINS GROUP, which has been in business for more than 150 years and today employs more than 1,500 people.
They are the only European producer who are experts in the 3 different salt production techniques – solar, vacuum and rock salt. They can supply salt in all its forms, be it untreated or conditioned and for all types of use: food-grade, farming, the chemical industry, de-icing, water treatment and other industrial activities.
Thanks to this experience, today the Group’s production capacity is 4 million tons of salt per year, taking into account their industrial production facilities in France, Spain, Italy, Holand, Denmark, Tunisia and Senegal.
Salt products produced by the Salt Specialties meet the health and safety criteria. They are free from gluten, dioxins and other toxic substances as well as any traces of micro-organisms and/or molluscs. The company’s salt products are completely free from any pesticide residues. The salt extraction or treatment process leaves no chance of contact with pesticides in any form whatsoever. Its salt products have not been exposed to radiation or disinfectants. They have not been genetically modified. In addition, they have never come into contact with any genetically modified organisms during their production process. The production does not use any materials containing asbestos or aluminium, and its salt never comes into any contact with these substances.
The production of salt products is certified in accordance with the requirements of international FSSC 22000, BRC, IFS, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards. All salt products for medical or food use are kosher and halal approved.
KNZ salt lick products are certified with the SKAL organic certificate and suitable for use in organic farms.
